The annual one-day event, led by Bristol Vision Institute (BVI) at the University of Bristol in collaboration with the Universities of Bath, Exeter and Cardiff took place on the 23rd of June, 2017. This colloquium provided an ideal opportunity for postgraduate students, postdoctoral research associates and others at an equivalent career stage, to present their work and obtain valuable feedback in an informal conference environment. The PROVISION team was represented by the fellows: Angeliki Katsenou, Mariana Afonso, Miltiadis-Alexandros Papadopoulos and Thomas Ntasios. Furthermore, the whole event was organized by the director of Bristol Vision Institute (BVI) and PROVISION supervisor, Professor David R. Bull.
All of the fellows participated in the poster session by presenting posters with their most recent research work. The posters presented by the fellows are the following: “A study on textural features of video based on statistics prior to and post encoding” – Angeliki Katsenou, “Low complexity video coding based on spatial resolution adaptation” – Mariana Afonso, “Video quality enhancement via QP adaptation based on perceptual coding maps” – Miltiadis-Alexios Papadopoulos, “Spatial and temporal feature selection for video texture classification” – Thomas Ntasios.
